Welcome to this week’s message: My God is The Great I AM
Text: “I Am the Lord, the God of all mankind, is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27 New International Version)
God spoke these words through the prophet Jeremiah at a time when Israel was facing an existential crisis. They text shows that they began to feel overwhelmed by the challenge. This caused them to be both fearful and doubtful. God saw this as an important moment to reintroduce Himself to the people of Israel.
Similar the challenge that troubled the Israelites in this passage, we too face situations in our everyday lives that cause us to become fearful. For instance, after the tragic events that transpired this past weekend, many people cannot help but think that their very own hometown could be subject of the next mass shooting. In light of such palpable grief, anger, I believe that God is using this passage to reintroduce Himself to us once more: I AM THE LORD.
May you find comfort, strength, and peace in the realization that nothing is too hard for God, especially our protection from danger. We can each say with confidence “My God Is The Great I AM.
May God bless you.
